The Sturdy Step  platform safety ladder line was designed and manufactured in the Netherlands -  originally by VRICOTEX, - for MITEC, the sole North American distributor of the product.  The  product is now manufactured in PRC using the same design technology as was established in the Netherlands.  We have been jointly selling, supporting and improving this product line for over 20 years.  It has been tested and certified in accordance with the European Union Standard EN 131.  It is rated to support 150 kg, which converts to just about 330 pounds.  This is the same stepladder that is sold in Europe under the product name "Kwikkie."

The European Standard EN131 actually exceeds the American ANSI Standard for ladders, and the Sturdy Step carries a United States duty rating of 1A Extra Heavy-Duty, capable of supporting a 330-pound working load.  The Sturdy Step essentially not only meets, but exceeds the quality of most household-class ladders available in the U.S. marketplace.

The Sturdy Step ladder is not sold in stores.  It is available for purchase exclusively through MITEC, Inc. for the U.S. market, by phone, email or web order.
