Features of the Sturdy Step Ladder

The safest, sturdiest European platform safety ladder product you can find on the American market. The Sturdy Step's aluminum tubular construction yields great strength, yet it is ultra lightweight and easily portable. Steps are 9" apart for easy climbing and are ribbed to prevent slipping. The platform has been enlarged for easier accessibility and is designed to accommodate up to 330 pounds.

Due to the unique design and construction of the Sturdy Step line, it has many product features that are beneficial to the user.

PLATFORM:

The top step on each Sturdy Step model is a 9 x 10 " platform on which the user can stand when it is correctly locked in place.  This platform provides stable and secure footing. 

SAFETY RAIL:

Inherent in the design of the ladder is the safety rail.  It can be used in two different ways:  while standing on a lower step, the user can grasp the rail for security;  or, while standing on the platform, you can use the interior of the rail to brace your legs for a feeling of safety even at great heights.

TUBULAR CONSTRUCTION:

The Sturdy Step is manufactured from high quality tubular aluminum.  This process provides for great strength in an ultra-lightweight product without the flex and sway you find in most aluminum ladders (which are made from channel aluminum).

PROTECTED EDGES AND REINFORCED TREADS:

All sharp edges are protected to guard against scratching or snagging, and  the treads are reinforced and riveted on both the front and back.

STEPS:

The steps are 9" apart to allow for easier climbing, and are ribbed for better traction.  Most ladders on the American market have steps that are 12" apart, which can be an uncomfortably large step for many people, especially at greater heights.

NON-SLIP FEET:

Each model is fitted with specially designed ribbed, non-slip feet to keep the ladder in place while in use.

ANTI-PINCH DESIGN:

The ladder is designed so that it is impossible for the user to pinch their fingers inside while closing the ladder.

ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT:

Due to its light weight, the Sturdy Step is very easy to handle and move from place to place for multiple tasks.  It is also very compact and closes to a trim 4" depth for easy storage.

MODELS AVAILABLE:

The Sturdy Step product is available in a 2 Step model to an 8 Step model, with the platform at the top counting as one of the steps.

SAFETY TESTING AND CERTIFICATION:

The Sturdy Step was designed and manufactured in the Netherlands.  As such, it is certified in accordance with the European Standard EN 131.  The European Standard is compatible with the American ANSI Standard for ladders, and accordingly, the Sturdy Step carries a United States duty rating of 1A extra heavy-duty, 330-pound (150 kg) working load.
